This year, 162 entries were submitted to the competition in 10 nominations. The buildings of the first phase of the<em> Business Garden R\u012bga <\/em>office campus by <em>Vastint Latvia <\/em>received the highest acclaim from industry professionals <\/strong><strong>\u2014 winning 1st place in the \u201cNew public building\u201d category, sharing this place with the <\/strong><strong><em>Akropole<\/em><\/strong><strong> multifunctional centre.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are delighted that the effort we have put into creating <em>Business Garden R\u012bga<\/em> \u2014 from the carefully selected solutions and materials to the smooth cooperation between everyone involved in the process \u2014 has received the highest recognition from industry experts,\u201d comments Liga Dani\u013cevi\u010da, Marketing Manager at <em>Vastint Latvia<\/em>. \u201cIn addition to the <em>LEED Platinum<\/em> certification that the first-phase buildings of <em>Business Garden R\u012bga<\/em> received at the beginning of 2020, this is another remarkable testimony to the high quality, sustainability and energy efficiency of the office campus. The experience of the first tenants proves that all this not only provides a comfortable and health-friendly environment for the employees, but also allows operational costs to be substantially reduced.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Business Garden R\u012bga,<\/em> located on Maldugu\u0146u street 1 and 2, is based on a concept by its developer <em>Vastint <\/em>that they have already successfully implemented in several other European cities. All <em>Business Garden<\/em> projects are distinguished by their convenient location close to an airport and city centre, as well as by the human-friendly proportions of the buildings, providing optimal daylight and creating a comfortable environment for employees. In the middle of the campus, an attractively landscaped 1.7-hectare large garden is situated with historic trees, sports grounds and recreation areas.<\/p>\n<p><em>Business Garden R\u012bga<\/em> is being developed in three phases, inspiring its tenants to grow along with the campus. During the first phase, two office buildings with more than 14,000 m<sup>2<\/sup> of leasable space were completed. 200 bicycle stands, 109 underground and 504 aboveground parking spaces with <em>CityBee<\/em> and <em>CarGuru<\/em> carsharing zones have been installed. The <em>Patnis <\/em>private nursery has opened its doors in one of the buildings, talks are in progress with a lunch restaurant operator, and the <em>Visma<\/em> IT company has moved into the premises. The <em>Business Garden R\u012bga <\/em>office campus will offer altogether more than 70,000 m<sup>2<\/sup> of modern and comfortable office space and a wide range of amenities for employees.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLatvijas B\u016bvniec\u012bba (Latvian Construction) Annual Awards\u201d is a prestigious competition organized by the Building Design and Construction Council, honouring outstanding building projects in 10 categories.
